TEN THINGS WHICH NULLIFY ONES ISLAM

1. Associating partners with Allah (shirk). Allah Most High says (in the meaning ):
"Truly, whosoever sets up partners with Allah, then Allah has forbidden the Garden for him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the wrongdoers there are no helpers." (Soorah Al-Maaida 5:72)

Calling upon the dead, asking their help, or offering them gifts or sacrifices are all forms of shirk.

2. Setting up intermediaries between oneself and Allaah, making supplication to them, asking their intercession with Allah, and placing ones trust in them is unbelief (kufr).

3. Anyone who does not consider the polytheists (mushrikeen) to be unbelievers, or who has doubts concerning their unbelief, or considers their way to be correct, is himself/herself an unbeliever (kafir).

4. Anyone who believes any guidance to be more perfect, or a decision other than the Prophets decision to be better, is an unbeliever. This applies to those who prefer the rule of Evil (Taghout) to the Prophets rule. Some examples of this are:

(a) To believe that systems and laws made by human beings are better than the Shariah of Islaam; for example,
That the Islamic system is not suitable for the twentieth century.
That Islam is the cause of the backwardness of the Muslims.
Or that al-Islam is a relationship between Allah and the Muslim. It should not interfere in other aspects of life.

(b)To say that enforcing the punishments prescribed by Allah, such as cutting of the hand of the thief or the stoning of an adulterer, is not suitable for this day and age.

(c) To believe that it is permissible to give a rule from that which Allah did not reveal in Islamic transactions or matters of law, punishments or other affairs. Although one may not believe such things to be superior to the Shariah he in effect affirms such a stand by declaring a thing which Allah has totally prohibited, such as adultery, drinking alcohol or usury, to be permissible. According to the consensus of the Muslims, one who declares such things to be permissible is an unbeliever (Kafir)

5. Anyone who hates any part of what the Messenger of Allah [saw] has declared to be lawful has nullified his Islam, even though he may act in accordance with it. Allaah Most High says(in the meaning):
"This is because they hate what Allah has sent down, so he has made their deeds fruitless" (Surah Muhammad 47:9)

6. Anyone who ridicules any aspect of the religion of the Messenger of Allah [saw], or any of its rewards or punishments, becomes an unbeliever. Allah Most High says (in the meaning):
"Say: Was it Allah, and His signs and His Messenger that you were mocking? Make no excuse; you have disbelieved after you had believed." (Surah At-Tawbah 9:65-66)

7. The practice of magic. Included in this, for example, is causing a rift between a husband and wife by turning his love for her into hatred, or tempting a person to do things he dislikes using black arts. One who engages in such a thing or is pleased with it is outside the fold of Islam. Allah Most High says (in the meaning):
" But neither of these two (angels, Harut and Marut) taught anyone (magic) till they had said, Indeed, we are a trial; then do not disbelieve. (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:102)

8. Supporting and aiding polytheists against the Muslims.

Allah Most High says (in the meaning):
"Whoever among you who takes them as allies is surely one of them. Truly, Allaah does not guide the wrongdoers." (Surah Al-Maaida 5:51)

9. Anyone who believes that some people are permitted to deviate from the Shariah of Muhammad [saw] is an unbeliever by the word of Allah Most High (in the meaning):
"And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will not be accepted of him, and in the hereafter he will be from among the losers." (Surah Aal-Imraan 3:85)

10. To turn completely away from the religion of Allaah neither learning its precepts nor acting upon it. Allah most high says (what means):
" And who does greater wrong than he who is reminded of the revelations of his Lord and turns aside there from Truly, We shall exact retribution from the guilty."
(Soorah As-Sajdah 32:22)

and He [swt] also says (what means):

"But those who disbelieve turn away from that about which they are warned."
It makes no difference whether such violations are commuted as a joke, in seriousness or out of fear, except when done under compulsion (i.e. from threat of loss of life )We seek refuge in Allaah from such deeds as entail His wrath and severe punishment.

SIX PILLARS OF IMAN (part 1)‏

·         SIX PILLARS OF IMAN (part 1)

1.               THE BELIEF IN ALLAH
The Pillars of faith, six in total, must be based on a very sound foundation of knowledge; and what is a more solid foundation than the Last of Divine revelations: the Quran and the inspired saying of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

The first among the six major elements of faith in orthodox Islam the belief in Allah, the one and only true God.

Allah, has revealed to His Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him) that: He is Alone, He is the One who is turned to in repentance, ever Eternal and Perfect, absolutely faultless. He did not give birth, nor was He born. There is no valid deity other than Him. (The term deity implies a worshiped object; so there is no one worthy of worship except for Him, even though many people worship others.) He is Alive, Ever-Living; He Sustains and Protects all that exists. He does not tire or become weary; He is the Owner and complete Sovereign of all.

His Knowledge encompasses everything; and He is completely Knowledgeable about a thing even before He creates it, knowing the how of the thing and all of its conditions and stipulations, including its duration of existence. He has complete control over everything and nothing happens except by His Permission. His Footstool extends over the heavens and the earth; His Throne is over His Footstool; and He is Above His Throne. He is the High and the Mighty.

He is the First, the Last, the Highest, the Nearest, and the Knower of all things. He is Ever-Living, without end. He is the Wise, the Well Acquainted. With Him are the keys to all knowledge beyond human reach, and none knows them except Him. Nothing happens at all except that He has written it in a Clear Book. He is Capable of everything. He is the Possessor of Strength, the Unbreakable. He has no likeness. He is the Hearing and the seeing, always. He Loves the doer of good, the just, the upright, and the pious. He loves the repentant and those who purify themselves. He loves those who fight for His Cause. He loves those who follow His Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him). He is the Forgiving, the Loving, and the Loved.

He is the Merciful, the Mercy-Giver. He has encompassed everything with His Mercy and He is Ever-Merciful with the Believers. He has prescribed mercy for Himself; He is the Coverer of sins, the Best Protector, and Most Merciful to those who show Mercy.
He is Pleased with the Believers, and they will be the inhabitants of His Paradise. He is Angry with whoever kills a faithful believer intentionally, and He curses him. He takes Vengeance on those whom He is angry with, and He punishes them. He dislikes and considers some things hateful, like the act of enjoining a thing which one does not do.

He will come, and He will arrive on the Day of Judgment in a manner that befits His Majesty. He descends to the lowest heaven at the last third of the night answering the calls of his supplicants. He is the Possessor of Majesty and Generosity, and His Face is Everlasting. He is the Lord.

He is the Best Plotter, the Best Planner. Others may plan or plot, but His is the way that will be. He is Pardoning, Capable. He is the Might. He is Unique; the Possessor of Majesty and Nobility. He is without namesake, equal, rival, partner, son, daughter, offspring. He is the Creator of everything and He has measured all.

He speaks, and narrates, and He spoke directly to Moses (peace be upon him). He has sent the Qur’an whose words are His. He is happy with the true repentance of the faithful believer.  He will Speak to His servants directly, on the Day of Resurrection, and in the Hereafter, He will be seen by the believers whom He grants this blessing to.

Belief in Allah also implies singling out Allah alone in worship and in all of the characteristics which have been mentioned in this booklet. The opposite of this is associating god with Allah. Association (shirk) is the gravest sin - it is a sin which Allah has stated He will not forgive. Likewise, denying any of the attributes of Allah is a heretical act of disbelief which may lead one to become an apostate. Belief in Allah necessitates believing in all that He has claimed about Himself, praise be to Him.
2.               BELIEF IN THE ANGELS
The angels are usually hidden from the senses of man, though sometimes they may be visible. Their existence is recognizable through reason, and it is proven by Divine Revelation. The following are some of the many characteristics of the angels:

Angels are shy and behave modestly; similar to people, they become annoyed by that which they dislike (like foul odors etc.). They flock to those who remember Allah and worship Him alone. Angels are created from light; they are free of the weaknesses of the flesh from which humans suffer, such as hunger, disease, illness, slumber, exhaustion, etc.,

"They celebrate His praises night and day, without exhaustion." (The Quran 21:20)

However, at the end of time, even the angels will pass away:

"And the Trumpet will be blown, and all who are in the heavens and all who are on the earth will swoon away, except whom Allah wills. Then it will be blown a second time and behold, they will be standing, looking on (waiting)." (The Quran 39:68)

Angels are in awe with their Lord, as Allah mentions in the Quran:

"And to Allah prostrate all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth of living creatures and the angels, and they (angels) are humble, fearing their Lord above them and they do as they are commanded." (The Qur’an 16:49-50)

"They cannot intercede except for him whom He is pleased. And they stand with awe in fear of Him." (The Quran 21:28)

The angels never disobey Allah: "Who disobey not the commands they receive from Allah, but do that which they are commanded." (The Quran 66:6)

"They are but honored servants; they speak not until He has spoken; and they act by His command." (The Quran 21:26-27)

Angels possess the ability to love and to show love. They supplicate to their Lord:

"Those who bear the Throne and those around it celebrate the praises of their Lord, and believe in Him, and ask for forgiveness for those who believe (They say): ‘Our Lord, you comprehend all thing in Your Mercy and Knowledge, so forgive those who repent and follow Your way and save them from the torment of the blazing Fire.’" (The Qur’an 40:77).

They cures whomever their Lord curses, as He said:

"Indeed those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelieves, for them is the curse of Allah and the angels and humanity combine." (The Quran 2:161-162)

The angels are great in their stature, some are larger than others:

"All praise is Allah's, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, the Maker of the angels - messengers flying on wings: two, three, and four. He increases in the creation what He will. Surely, Allah Has power over all things." (The Quran 35:1)

Certain angels are assigned specific functions; for example, Jibreel (Gabriel) is entrusted with delivering Allah’s Revelation to the Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon them). Mikaeel (Michael) is in charge of rain and plantation, Israfeel is in charge of blowing the Trumpet at the time of Resurrection, and Malik is the Keeper of Hell.

Some of the angels have specific tasks, but their names may be unknown, such as the one who takes the soul at the time of death. Some are in charge of them embryo in the mother's womb, others are responsible for protecting the human beings, and still others record their deeds:

"
When the two angels receive (his deed), one sitting on the right and one on the left, he utters not a word but an observer is near him." (The Quran 50:18)

Two angels come to each person in his grave and ask him about his Lord, his religion, and his prophet.
3.               Belief in the Divine Revelations
Allah has guided and helped the human race in many ways. One of these ways was to reveal a books containing the laws prescribed for a particular people though their Prophets. Each of the Prophets who received a divinely revealed Book also received a wisdom enable them to explain and teach their people how to best implement the divinely revealed Books.

These Books explain to the people that Allah was the only one worthy of worship, and that true success in this life and the Hereafter would only be reached by worshiping Him alone, without any partners or associates. They explained laws and codes for the people to follow; they informed of life in the Hereafter, giving glad tidings to those who obeyed the Messengers, and warning of severe punishment for those who rejected their guidance.

We learn that Ibrahim (Abraham, peace be upon him) received Divine Book as well as the wisdom:
"But We had already given the house of Ibrahim the Book and the Wisdom, and conferred upon them a great kingdom." (The Quran 4:54)  . Today, the most famous among the Prophets are those whom Allah sent to the Israelites: "And We bestowed upon him (Ibrahim) Ishaq and Yaqub (Isaac and Jacob) and ordained among his offspring Prophet hood and Revelation..." (The Qur’an 29:27)

From this lineage of Prophets, we are aware of the following Books: the Suhuf (Scrolls) revealed to Ibrahim (Abraham), the Zaboor revealed to Dawud (David), the Tawrah (Torah) revealed to Musa (Moses), the Injeel (Gospel) revealed to Isa (Jesus), and the Qur’an revealed to Muhammad, whose lineage traces back to Abraham through Ismael (peace be upon them all).

Though there were many Prophets and Messengers sent to mankind, a relatively small number of them have been mentioned to us by name. These Prophets and their Books are to be believed in, although today humanity does not posses the actual Books that the Prophet received from Allah nor the advice that each Prophet gave to his followers.

For example, we know that the Torah was altered through time. This fact is easily accessible to all who dire to find it:
"Indeed We did reveal the Torah, therein was guidance and light, by which the Prophet’s, who surrendered to Allah's Will, judged the Jews; and the Rabbis and the Priests (who judged also), for to them was entrusted the protections of Allah's Book, and they wee witness to it; therefore fear not men but fear Me and sell not My Signs for a miserable price. And who-so-ever odes not judge by what Allah has revealed, such are disbelievers." (The Qur’an 5:44) and: "Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands and then say, ‘This is from Allah’, to earn for it a cheap price! Woe to them for what their hands have written..." (The Qur’an 2:79) and: "But the transgressors changed the word from that which was sent to them to another, so We sent a wrath form the heavens upon the wrongdoers..." (The Qur’an 2:59).

Similarly, though we believe in the Injeel (Gospel) that was revealed to Jesus (peace be upon him), we know that it and some of the wisdom that Allah revealed to him have been confused and lost to the extent that today people worship him.
"And (remember) when Allah will say, ‘O Jesus, son of Mary! Did you say to men, "Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allah"? He will say, ‘Glory be to you! It was not my place to say what I had no right to say. If I said such a thing, You would surely have known it. You know what in my self though I know not what in Yours. Truly, You, only You are the All-Knower of the unknown. I never said anything to them but You commanded me to say: "Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." And I was a witness over them only while I dwelt among them, but when You took me away, You were a watcher over them, and You are witness to all things.’" (The Qur’an 4:116-7)

The Last Revelation The Qur’an is the Last of the Revealed Books. It is preserved in the exact original form that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) uttered. This is a fact attested to by the majority of scholars and historians. The following are some important facts about the Qur’an:
Allah's Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him) who was not able to read and write, received the first revelation from the Qur’an in the Cave of Hira in the year 610.
·                   The Qur’an was revealed to Muhammad (peace be upon him) in sections - some large than others- delivered by the Angel Jibreel (Gabriel, peace be upon him) over a twenty-two year period.
·                   The revealed portion were immediately memorized and written on parchment and stone under the supervision of the Prophet (peace be upon him).
·                   The Qur’an was collected into one book only after the passing of Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him). Abu Bakr, the first Caliph, who live only two years longer than Allah's Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him), had the Quran compiled in book-form during his own life.
to be contd....

1.    ALLAH, The Exalted, Revealed and Sent, The QUR’AN, In Truth
“We have revealed the Quran with the truth, and with the truth it has come down.”
[17:105 – Wahiduddin]
“We have sent down the Qur´an with the Truth, and it is with the Truth that it has descended.”
[17:105 – Maududi]

2.  ALLAH, The Exalted has Commanded the mankind, thus:
“O you who have attained to faith! Hold fast unto your belief in God and His Apostle, and in the divine writ which He has bestowed from on high upon His Apostle, step by step, as well as in the revelation which He sent down aforetime: for he who denies God, and His angels, and His revelations, and His apostles, and the Last Day, has indeed gone far astray.”
[Quran - 4:136 - Asad]

3.  ALLAH’S Unique Revelation
Inscribed in a Tablet Preserved [85:22]
Protected against corruption [15:9]
Easy to Remember (Memorize) [54:17]
A 2007 estimate indicates that By ALLAH’S Mercy, there were 30 Million Muslim Huffaz (who has memorized the whole Quraan) of The Qur’an, in the World.  [1]

4.  ALLAH’S Imperishable Revelation
If all the Copies of the Text of The Qur’an, all Tapes, CDs, Hard Drives or any other means for preserving Texts, known to man, containing the Quranic Text were destroyed, ALLAH’S Qur’an will still be with mankind. By ALLAH’S Mercy, ALLAH’S Guidance will continue to be Transmitted, Understood, Embraced and Practiced, as has been done, for more than 1400 years, via Oral Transmissions. [2]

5.  QUR’AN speaks about itself to mankind, thus:
“And indeed (by revealing it through human language) We have made the Qur’an easy for remembrance (of God, and taking heed), then is there any that remembers and takes heed?”
[54:17 – Ali Unal: Repeated and Reiterated in following Verses 54:22; 32; 40]
“Will they not, then, ponder over this Qur’an? - Or are there locks upon their hearts?
[47:24 – Asad]
“This Qur'an, assuredly, guides to that which is most upright and gives to the believers, who do righteous deeds, the glad tidings that there awaits them a great reward,”
[17:9 – Amatul Rahman Omar]
“All praise belongs to Allah, who has sent down the Book to His servant and did not let any crookedness be in it,”
[18:1 – Ali Quli Qara’i]
“Do they not, then, ponder about the Qur‘an? Had it been from someone other than Allah, they would have found in it a great deal of discrepancy.”
[4:82 – Taqi Usmani]
“Indeed We have explained in this Qur‘an every subject in various ways for the benefit of the people, but out of all creation, man is most disputing.”
[18:54 – Taqi Usmani]
“Now that the guidance is here, nothing must keep people from believing and seeking forgiveness from their Lord. Else, the tradition of the earlier folks would be repeated, and they would come face to face with a severe torment.”
[18:55 – Dr. Munir Munshey]
“THUS, step by step, We bestow from on high through this Qur'an all that gives health [to the spirit] and is a grace unto those who believe [in Us], the while it only adds to the ruin of evildoers:”
[17:82 – Asad]
“If you (all) are in any doubt about what We have sent down to Our servant, then bring a chapter like it and call in your witnesses besides God if you are so truthful.”
[2:23 – T. B. Irving]
“This Qur'an is not such as can be produced by other than Allah; on the contrary it is a confirmation of (revelations) that went before it, and a fuller explanation of the Book - wherein there is no doubt - from the Lord of the worlds.”
[10:37 – Abdullah Yusuf Ali]
“And when you recite the Qur'an, seek refuge with Allah from satan, the rejected.”
[16:98 – Amatul Rahman Omar]

6.  QUR’AN DESCRIBED BY MUSLIM SCHOLARS
a.   Qur’an – Description by – Ali, 4th Caliph of Islam,
May ALLAH Be Pleased with him
“Kitabullah (The Book of ALLAH) is the way, for it contains information of what happened before you, news of what will come after you a decision regarding matters that will occur among you. It is the Distinguisher and is not jesting. If any overweening person abandons it, Allah will break him, and if anyone seeks guidance elsewhere ALLAH will lead him astray. It is ALLAH’S stalwart rope, the wise reminder, the straight path; it is by which desires do not swerve nor the tongue becomes confused, and the learned cannot grasp it completely. It is not worn out by repetition nor do its wonders ever cease. It is that of which the jinn did not hesitate to remark when they heard it: ‘We have heard a wonderful recitation which guides to what is right, and we believe in it’; he who utters it speaks the truth, he who acts according it is rewarded, he who pronounces judgment according to it is just, and he who invites people to it guides them to the straight path”. [3]

b.  Qur’an – Description by – theholybook.org
“The Qur’an is God’s miraculous, matchless message that has been sent to all humanity via His last Messenger. With the Qur’an, God has shown humanity, one last time, a short-cut to His good pleasure. He has communicated to us about His Essence, Attributes, and Names. He has expressed in the most explicit way, leaving no room for any misunderstanding, His will to be known and recognized in the correct way, to be believed in and worshipped. Almighty God has put emphasis on the duties and responsibilities of believers, while enthusing hearts and agitating souls with His promise for punishment and reward. He has presented the Qur’an as a sign for perfection and completion and as an orbit to rotate around for His good pleasure, while condescending to offer this gift to us as a compliment greater than any that has been or will ever be granted to anyone else”. [4]  “Having come from the Supreme Throne of God, and originated in His Greatest Name, and issued forth from the most comprehensive rank of each Name, and as is explained in The Twelfth Word, the Koran is both the word of God as regards His being the Lord of the worlds, and His decree in respect of His having the title of the Deity of all creatures, and a discourse in the name of the Creator of all the heavens and earth, and a speech from the perspective of the absolute Divine Lordship, and an eternal sermon on behalf of the universal Sovereignty of the All-Glorified One, and a register of the favors of the Most Merciful One from the viewpoint of the all-embracing Mercy, and a collection of messages some of which begin with a cipher, and a holy book which, having descended from the surrounding circle of the Divine Greatest Name, looks over and surveys the circle surrounded by the Supreme Throne of God”. [5]

c.   Qur’an - Description by – Muhammad Asad

THE TRUE WORD OF GOD
“the fact remains, that to all who believed and believe in it, the Qur'an represents the ultimate manifestation of God's grace to man, the ultimate wisdom, and the ultimate beauty of expression: in short, the true Word of God”.[6]

d.  Qur’an – Description by – Yahiya Emerick
QUR’AN -- GOD’S PERSONAL LETTER TO MANKIND
“The Qur’an is a personal Letter from God to you, asking you to become something more than you thought you could be: someone whom God loves and someone who loves His world so much that he or she will do everything in their power to take good care of it.” “The Qur’an is more of a Book of persuasion – it is a Book that speaks to you like a friend. Stories of famous people are given only as way to prove a point. Laws are few and are connected with trying to make you a better person. Poetic phrases become beautiful ways to remember sound advice and good teachings”.
[7]

7.   QUR’AN DESCRIBED BY NON-MUSLIM SCHOLARS
a.   Quran - Description by - Arthur Arberry
In making the present attempt to improve on the performance of my predecessors, and to produce something which might be accepted as echoing however faintly the sublime rhetoric of the Arabic Koran, I have been at pains to study the intricate and richly varied rhythms which - apart from the message itself - constitute the Korans undeniable claim to rank amongst the greatest literary masterpieces of mankind... This very characteristic feature - that inimitable symphony, as the believing Pickthall described his Holy Book, the very sounds of which move men to tears and ecstasy - has been almost totally ignored by previous translators; it is therefore not surprising that what they have wrought sounds dull and flat indeed in comparison with the splendidly decorated original. [8]

b.  Qur’an -  Description by – Goethe
Speaking about the Quran, Goethe says, "It soon attracts, astounds, and in the end enforces our reverence... Its style, in accordance with its contents and aim is stern, grand - ever and always, truly sublime -
So, this book will go on exercising through all ages a most potent influence".
[9]

c.   Qur’an -  Description by – Margoliouth
"The Koran (Quran) admittedly occupies an important position among the great religious books of the world. Though it is the youngest of the epoch making works belonging to this class of literature, it yields to hardly any in the wonderful effect which it has produced on large masses of men. It has created an all but new phase of human thought and a fresh type of character. It first transformed a number of heterogeneous desert tribes of the Arabian Peninsula into a nation of heroes, and then proceeded to create the vast politico-religious organizations of Muslims worldwide which are one of the great forces with which Europe and the East have to reckon with today". [10]

d.  Qur’an -  Description by – N. J. Dawood
“It is acknowledged that the Koran is not only one of the most influential books of prophetic literature but also a literary masterpiece in its own right”. [11]

8.  QUR’AN -- as understood by those
"whose hearts tremble when Allah is mentioned" [Quran - 8:2]

Quran is ALLAH’S Gift of Guidance and Mercy for the believers. The Qur’an (in Arabic - Recital) is ALLAH’S Final Revelation for mankind.  The Qur'an is a record of the exact words revealed by God through the Angel Gabriel to the Prophet Muhammad, in stages (portions), in Prophet’s own language, Arabic, between 610 – 632 C.E. The Quran was memorized by Muhammad (pbuh) and then dictated to his Companions, and written down by scribes, who cross-checked it during Prophet’s lifetime. The Qur'an, the last revealed Word of God, is the Supreme Jurisprudence for Muslims in all matters of faith. It deals with all the subjects which concern us as human beings: wisdom, doctrine, worship, and law, but its basic theme is the relationship between God and His creatures. At the same time it provides guidelines for a just society, proper human conduct and an equitable economic system. [12]
And the humble ones say:
"We believe in Allah, and in what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and in (the Books) given to Moses, Jesus, and the prophets, from their Lord: We make no distinction between one and another among them, and to Allah do we bow our will (in Islam)."
[3:84 – Yusuf Ali]

1.    QUR’AN - THE CONTENT [What The Qur’an contains]
QUR’AN  --  HISTORY and FACTS
Muslim Scholars are in agreement:
The Qur’an in Arabic means RECITAL (Recitation) and applies to the whole of The REVELATION. The physical text in our hands today is the written compilation of that Recital known as The Uthmanic  Recessions, also known as Uthmanic Codex  --  [3rd  Rightly Guided Caliph of Islam ( May ALLAH Be Pleased with him), Uthman Ibn Affan, Codified the Text of the Quran in c. 653/654 A.H.]
Revelation of The Quran Commenced  --  17 th of Ramadhan --  610 CE
Revelation commenced at  --  in cave named Hira, in the Jabal al-Nur mountain range, in the neighbourhood of Macca.
First Verse of The Revelation  --  [96:1]
Last Verse of The Qur’an Revealed  --  [5:3]

[IMPORTANT NOTE: Muslim Scholars are not unanimous in their views about the identity of the Final Verse of The Qur’an that was Revealed to The Prophet. A comprehensive review of all the claimed Final Revealed Verses of The Qur’an has been completed by Dr Louay Fatoohi and is available for reference and study. [13] For the Believers, it is important to note that the lack of agreement between Scholars about the identity of the Final Verse Revealed, does not in any way inhibit or hinder the understanding of The Message of The Qur’an; just as a unanimous agreement amongst Scholars, about the identity of the Final Verse Revealed would not in any way enhance or elevate the understanding of The Message of The Qur’an. Only The All Knowing Knows the true identity of the Final Verse Revealed.]
Number of Verses in The Qur’an  --  6236  - [According to Kufa school tradition][14]
[There are 6236 verses in the Quran (7 verses in the first chapter with Bismillah included but with Bismillah not included for other Surahs), otherwise with including all Bismillah at the beginning of all chapters then there are 112 + 6236 = 6348 verses] [15]

[IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER:  "There have been some attempts to apply various kinds of numerological meanings to some of these statistics, in at least one case going so far as using such claims as justification for editing out some verses of the Qur'an. Careful study by qualified academic mathematicians have shown that such claims are completely without merit."
[IMPORTANT NOTE:  There may be differences in the Statistics (Numbers). This is primarily due to the different definitions of a word, a letter, or the beginning of verses as used by different Scholars.]
